When we talk about change, the butterfly comes to mind. They go through some amazing changes to transform from a walking caterpillar that eats leaves to a flying nectar sipper.
Crafts
To observe the miraculous change from caterpillar to butterfly at home, this week's craft is to build a butterfly enclosure.

To live in your enclosure you can search for Monarch caterpillars on milkweed or pick up a Painted Lady caterpillar from the Fellowship Center. (One per family)

Update 8/11/2020
If you are just joining us this week, we still have caterpillars. Most, if not all, are in the chrysalis stage now but you can still get a craft kit and watch the chrysalis turn into a beautiful Painted Lady butterfly. Call the church office at 518-643-8641 to arrange pick up.
Mission
Each week we will have a different Mission.
You can choose to do it each week, some weeks, or not at all.
This week we talk about how God gives us strength. Sometimes God uses our hands to help strengthen others. This week, we can help others stay strong by donating food to the food shelf. This is a place where food is donated to be given to others who may not have enough money that week to pay bills and purchase food. Instead of having to choose which to do, they can pay the bills and get food to eat. This is important all the time but is especially important now that many people have lost their jobs or had their hours cut due to COVID closures.

You can take your donations right to the JCEO Food Pantry in the Peru Town Hall at 3036 Main St. They are open M-F from 8:30am – 3:30pm.

They especially appreciate kidney beans, canned fruit, peanut butter, and jelly.
